Crouching Tiger

As Phil Mickelson (in black) awaited his turn, Tiger Woods (red) lined up a putt on the 13th green in the final round of the Masters on Sunday at Augusta. The two past champs made late runs at the leaders but finished fifth and tied for sixth, respectively. Argentina's Angel Cabrera (inset) won the green jacket in a three-way playoff (page 30).

Sidekicks

Three teams of motorcyclists sailed over the top of a ridge during a sidecar motocross race in the International German Championship series on April 5 in Schnaitheim, Germany. None of these pairs, whose members were from Germany (in red), the Czech Republic (yellow) and the Netherlands and Switzerland (green), won the race.

In Memoriam

The late-afternoon sun cast a glow on the outfield tribute to pitcher Nick Adenhart at Angel Stadium of Anaheim last Saturday. Adenhart died after a car crash in which two fellow passengers were killed early last Thursday in Fullerton, Calif. (page 20). Later that day fans and Angels employees began placing flowers and mementos outside the ballpark (inset).
