Pete Sampras might not be ranked No. 1, but he showed Andre Agassi that he's still in charge at Wimbledon. In the all-American final on the Fourth of July, Sampras cruised in straight sets Sunday to win a record-tying 12th Grand Slam and he also became the first player in the Open era to win Wimbledon six times. Seven-time champion Steffi Graf lost 6-4, 7-5 to Lindsay Davenport in the women's final and announced that it was her last match at The Championships. "I won't be here as a player again," Graf said after only her second loss in a Wimbledon final and first since 1987.
Davenport completes double by winning doubles
By winning the doubles title with fellow American Corina Morariu, Lindsay Davenport will leave Wimbledon $930,912 richer.
