Biography: Junior college transfer who's started the past two years. All-conference selection as a senior. Lined up at both guard positions as well as left and right tackle.
Positives: Large, strong lineman who is best in a small area. Quickly sets up off the snap, immediately gets his hands into opponents and rides defenders from their angle of attack. Blocks with good lean, plays with a nasty attitude and flashes skill on the second level. Bends his knees and blocks with solid leverage.
Negatives: Displays poor footwork and gets tall as the play proceeds. Lumbers about the field and is not light on his feet. Does not keep his feet active throughout the action.
Analysis: Watkins is a developing blocker with the versatility to be used at several positions on the offensive line. Better inside at guard, he could be a valuable backup with the potential to develop into a starter if he continues to improve his game.
