Positives: Powerful interior ball carrier with both running vision and instincts. Aggressive, keeps his feet moving on contact and drives his shoulders into opponents. Displays a powerful lower body and picks up the difficult yardage. Falls forward when tackled. Solid footwork in a small area and bounces around piles. Picks up blocking assignments and squares into defenders. Patient, waits for blocks develop and finds running lanes. Sees the field and will pick and choose his way on the inside.

Negatives: Loses momentum changing direction. Marginal quickness and speed in his game. Can not beat defenders around the corner or into the open field. Marginal pass catcher.

Analysis: Whiting possesses terrific size/speed numbers, which he plays to on the field. He does the little things well and has the physical makeup to be a short-yardage back in the NFL.
