PLAYERS
Biography: Three-year starter at nose tackle for Michigan. Awarded all-conference honors the past two years. Senior totals included 64
tackles/6 tackles for loss/3.5 sacks after 37/6/2.5 as a junior.
Positives: Intense, competitive defender who displays tremendous quickness and explosiveness in his game. Fires off the snap with an outstanding first step, plays with leverage and fights with his hands throughout the action. Keeps his feet moving up the field, plays off blocks and nicely redirects to ballcarriers. Can immediately alter his angle of attack, chases the action hard and also plays assignment football. Instinctive, quickly diagnoses the action and locates the ball. Negatives: Marginal skills as a pass rusher. Possesses just a short-area burst of speed and is not effective in pursuit. Lacks classic size for nose tackle and may not possess the growth potential to play the position at the next level. Analysis: Martin is a combative defensive tackle who plays hard until the whistle blows and gets the most from his ability. More of a one-dimensional run defender, Martin would be effective at defensive tackle in a conventional four-man front. Projection: 2-3 ![]() Simon Bruty
