PLAYERS
Biography: Four-year starter awarded all-conference honors since his sophomore season and named to several All-American teams the past
two years. Senior totals included 54 tackles/2 interceptions/7 pass breakups, when he also averaged 18 yards on eight punt
returns and 25.8 yards on 14 kick returns. Junior totals included 55/2/9 with an average of 12.6 yards on 17 punt returns.
Positives: Athletic, well-sized cornerback with the ability to impact the game on special teams. Plays with good awareness, gets up the field quickly and voluntarily defends the run. Displays quickness in his overall game, has a nice burst to the ball out of his plant and stays with receivers out of breaks. Follows opponents laterally across the field and quickly picks up assignments in zone. Negatives: Plays off balance and loses transitioning out of his backpedal to run with receivers downfield. Gets out-positioned from the ball on occasion. Analysis: Jackson is a feisty cornerback who's shown improved ball skills and also adds the element of return specialist. He offers potential as a dime back at the next level, although his main priorities will be on special teams. Projection: 4-5
