PLAYERS
Biography: Louisville transfer who posted 79 tackles and broke up three passes as a senior. Started the first two games of the 2010 season
before being sidelined the rest of the year with a neck injury. Broke into the starting lineup as a true freshman at Louisville
in 2006.
Positives: Big, run-defending safety who is best in a straight line. Effectively reads the action, takes good angles to the play and wraps up when tackling. Aggressive and quick up the field to defend the run. Keeps the play in front of him. Displays the ability to drive to the ball out of his plant. Negatives: Stiff and struggles to quickly change direction. Possesses marginal closing and recovery speed. Has a history of injuries. Analysis: Thomas looked like a star in the making at Louisville before injuries and a transfer slowed his development. He's a physical safety with nice size, but must play in a scheme that keeps him between the numbers. Past medical history will dictate whether or not he's brought into camp this summer.
