WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. (AP) -- Marcus Ware scored 15 points and Monmouth beat Mount St. Mary's 73-59 on Thursday, snapping a four-game losing streak for the Hawks.
Ware shot 70 percent (7 of 10) from the field.
Monmouth (3-12, 1-2 Northeast Conference) entered halftime leading 35-31 but opened the second half on an 8-0 run to take a 43-31 lead with 16:35 left. Mount St. Mary's closed the gap to five, 48-43, but Monmouth went on another 8-0 run, this time taking a 56-43 lead with 9:24 to play.
Mike Myers Keitt added 13 points for Monmouth, hitting 83.3 percent (5 of 6) of his shots and knocking down his only shot from 3-point range.
Julian Norfleet led Mount St. Mary's (2-12, 0-3) with 20 points and Danny Thompson had 15 points and 11 rebounds in the loss.
Monmouth's bench scored 29 points compared to just eight for Mount St. Mary's.
