PARIS (AP) -AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has visited a Paris hospital for a reported medical exam ahead of an anticipated signing with Paris Saint-Germain.

PSG would not confirm the reason for Ibrahimovic's hospital visit Wednesday morning. The club is expected to announce the deal with the Sweden international later in the day.

PSG has paid a reported $25 million for Ibrahimovic, taking its summer spending on new players to an estimated $123 million.

French sports minister Valerie Fourneyron decried the spending spree, saying "these sums are astronomic, they are unreasonable.''

Ibrahimovic will be the Ligue 1 club's third major signing. The clubs Qatari owners have previously signed his former AC Milan teammate Thiago Silva and Napoli's Ezequiel Lavezzi.
